Double check email requests for payment and electronic bills

As we discussed in the last post, it is important to trust but verify any emails that you receive ESPECIALLY those requesting payment. Do NOT click on any links for payment or otherwise unless you are 100% certain that the email is not a “spoof”. Any online payments may be made directly from the vendor’s website that you may access yourself. Again, when in doubt reach out. The extra time spent verifying information will potentially save you hours of untangling the mess if your financial information falls into the wrong hands.
