Trust but verify. Scams are everywhere.

Sad to say but scams are everywhere and we must be vigilant to avoid them. If you receive an unexpected email or an email that appears to be from someone you know, but it seems off, do not be afraid to reach out directly to that person or entity using a trusted method of communication to verify that the email is indeed from the party who allegedly sent it. Do NOT hit “Reply” to verify the email, but either call a trusted number for the sender or email using a known, trusted email address. Many email addresses will appear to be from the sender, but they are different, by a letter or a space, etc. Scrutinize the email address carefully if you are going to respond to it directly. Trust, but verify before taking any action.
